EMTCC training: strengthening the potential of emergency medicine at the international level

On March 16-22, 2025, our representative took part in the EMTCC (Emergency Medical Teams Coordination Center) training course in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The training was conducted at the invitation of the WHO Regional Office for Europe in cooperation with the WHO Secretariat of Emergency Medical Teams in Geneva, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI, Germany) and within the framework of the WHO/EU project “CBRN Threats in the European Region”.

📚 What we studied?

🔹 Organization of EMTCC work – coordination and management of emergency teams at the national and international levels.
🔹 Use of mobile rapid response laboratories (RRLM).
🔹 Basics of responding to chemical, biological, radiation and nuclear threats (CBRN).
🔹 SIMEX (simulation training): practicing a crisis situation – flooding in Kaunas, Lithuania.

Participants of the training included emergency medicine specialists and government officials from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, England, Israel and Jordan.
