The conference “Modernization of the Hospital Network” was held in Kyiv to discuss the development of Ukraine’s medical infrastructure
Over the course of three days, more than 50 speakers – representatives of the Ministry of Health, the President’s Office, the Verkhovna Rada, the World Bank, the WHO, hospital managers, regional authorities, and international experts – discussed challenges, strategies, and investments in the restoration and development of Ukraine’s medical infrastructure.

Today, the healthcare system in Ukraine is changing faster than at any other time in history. And despite the war, it is changing in the direction of quality.
106 hospital clusters.
25 emergency assistance centers.
Hundreds of modernized facilities already providing care according to the new standards.
It’s not just a structure – it’s a new patient route, where each level is responsible for its own, and care becomes accessible and evidence-based.
This means:
a stroke is not a transfer to hospitals, but a clear route to the unit with CT and specialists;
oncology is not despair, but an accelerator and MRI where it is needed;
rehabilitation is not “after the war” but right now: 600 thousand Ukrainians have received assistance;
mental health is not a topic for “later,” and 124 centers are already operating.
These changes are not only about medicine. It is about trust in the state, in the doctor, in the system.

While someone else is destroying, we are building.
While enemy missiles are taking lives, we are fighting for each one.
We work to ensure that high-quality medical care is available to everyone, regardless of their place of residence, conditions or circumstances.
The Forum was organized by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank in Ukraine with funding from the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine.
