Minister visits St. Panteleimon Hospital, which suffered a terrorist attack and destruction
On behalf of the Minister of Health, Vitaliy Kryliuk, Director of the State Institution “Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine of the Ministry of Health”, took part in a working visit to Sumy on October 3.
The Minister visited the St. Panteleimon Hospital, which was attacked and destroyed by terrorists last Saturday. He discussed with the leadership of the region, the hospital and the staff the issue of its restoration and, most importantly, the preservation of the staff.
During the working meeting with the heads of medical institutions, we reviewed in detail the interaction and assistance to the victims and their evacuation. They also discussed in detail the Ministry of Health’s policies to maintain the resilience and functioning of the healthcare system in times of war.
They also visited the center for emergency medical care and disaster medicine, where they got acquainted with their work in extremely difficult conditions. They inspected the ambulances that had recently been added to the center’s fleet with the support of the Olena Zelenska Foundation and immediately started to visit the victims. The director of the center, Serhiy Butenko, emphasized the problematic issues and thanked for the assistance provided by the Ministry of Health.
It was an intense and productive visit, during which we managed to resolve a number of important issues!
